The Importance Of The Right Time

In Matthew 16:18 Jesus says he will build his church before he went to the cross almost 2000 years ago. In Acts 2:47 the Bible says "And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved." The Bible clearly says the church was established, came into existence, some time between Christ's death on the cross and Pentecost. The church of the Bible was established and in existence in the first century.

What does this mean to us?

We can use a church's time of establishment as test of authenticity, but not the only test, to determine whether or not a religious body in existence today is the one Jesus said he would establish or it isn't. Another test we can apply is who is the builder or founder. The Bible clearly sets forth the starting time and builder of the Bible church - first century and Jesus.

Here is the consensus of the starting times and founders of some well known religious groups of today...

  • Jehovah's Witnesses 1879 ~ Charles Taze Russell (1852-1916)
  • Christian Science 1879 ~ Mary Baker Eddy (1821-1910)
  • Seventh-day Adventist Church 1863 ~ Ellen G. White (1827–1915)
  • The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints 1830 ~ Joseph Smith (1805-1844)
  • Episcopal Church 1789 ~ (Came out of the Anglican Church founded by King Henry VIII of England 16th century.)
  • Methodist Church 1744 ~ John Wesley (1703-1791)
  • Baptist Church 1609 ~ John Smyth (1554-1612)
  • Presbyterian Church 1560 ~ John Calvin (1509-1564)
  • Anglican Church (Church of England) 1534 ~ King Henry VIII (1491-1547)
  • Lutheran Church 1517 ~ Martin Luther (1483-1546)

    When we compare the founders and starting dates and founders of the denominational world to Acts 2:47 and Matthew 16:18 we can only say, wrong founders and too late!

    Wrong founders and too late! None of them can be the church of the Bible.

    The church of the Bible exists today. Jesus said the gates of hell will not prevail against it. Matthew 16:18 That means nothing can harm or change it. That same church that existed in the first century exists today just like it did then and it will exist forever. Luke 8:11 says the seed is the word of God. If you plant the word of God you get the church of the word of God, the one founded by Christ at the proper time. The Bible church is built on the word of God and not on the teaching of men and women centuries after the word of God says it was originally established.

    We invite you to leave the built too late churches founded by men and explore the church of the Bible Christ built nearly 2,000 tears ago.
